Pickens - Childers

Beth Ann Childers and David Wayne Pickens were married on Oct. 23, 2010, at Sand Run Baptist Church in Buckhannon. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Charles Donald Butcher.

The bride is the daughter of Jennings Lynn and Linda Lou Childers of Buckhannon. She is the granddaughter of Calvin Ralph Morgan of Jane Lew, and the late Bonnie Lorraine Morgan, and the late Hoy Warden and Hazel Catherine Childers.

The bridegroom is the son of Loretta Jean Pickens of Weston and the late Larmon Troy Pickens. He is the grandson of the late Lena and Clay Malone and the late J. Troy and Virgie Pearl Pickens.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a diamond white strapless gown with a long-sleeved lace jacket embellished with beading and crystals. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of assorted fall flowers.

Serving as maid of honor was Barbara Helmick, friend of the bride, of Buckhannon.

Serving as best man was Terry Halterman, friend of the bridegroom, of Weston.

The pianist was Sue Ellen Hall, cousin of the bride, of Weston. Guest book attendant was Alysha Pickens, daughter of the bridegroom, of Weston.

Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted at Sand Run Baptist Church. Catering and the three-tiered cake were provided by Dale Hawkins of Fish Hawk Acres in Rock Cave.

The bride is a graduate of West Virginia University with a master's degree in speech pathology and audiology. She is employed by Randolph County Schools at North Elementary and is co-owner of The Stitching House LLC in Buckhannon.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Lewis County High School. He is employed by Advantage Tanklines.

Following the honeymoon, the couple will reside in Buckhannon.
