Think about this

By Sue Farrar President of the Randolph County Ministerial Association

This message has been stirring in my heart for over a month or more.

A month ago my husband, Bob, and I went with some very dear friends to Orlando, Florida, for a week. We had talked about doing some sight-seeing, but God had other plans. The first morning there, we were walking out the door to go visit a church and the Lord stopped us. He said to stay there because he wanted to speak to us. We sat at the table for 2 1/2 hours in a "Cloud of Glory" (his presence). The Lord said he brought us together to "tell us things we did not know and things that are coming."

He began to show us certain scriptures pertaining to the things that are happening now in our nation and around the world. The first thing was concerning the birds falling out of the air and the fish dying that we had been hearing about in the paper. In Hosea 4:1-3 it says, "Listen to the word of the Lord, O sons of Israel, for the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land, because there is no faithfulness or kindness or knowledge of God in the land. There is swearing, deception, murder, stealing and adultery, they employ violence, so that bloodshed follows bloodshed. Therefore the land mourns, and everyone who lives in it languishes along with the beast of the field and the birds of the sky, and also the fish of the sea disappear."

Look what has happened in the world this year in the Middle East. War has broken out in most of the countries bordering Israel. Isaiah 19 and Jeremiah 46 talk about Egypt. Matthew 24 talks about what will take place before the coming of the Lord.

The Lord has been speaking to us for some time about I Peter 4:16-19: "But if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name. For it is time for judgment to begin in the household of God; (the church) and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner? Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful creator in doing what is right."

Have you noticed how the year 2011 has brought so much turmoil and unrest to our world? The No. 11 means transition, birth canal and overflow of God. We are definitely in transition and God is birthing something new. I believe we have never been this way before.

We are in a new era of our walk with God and it's time "to let our light shine" and help the lost have insight with understanding (Amos 3:7) as to what is happening in our country and in this world.

Malachi 3:1-2: "And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold he is coming, says the Lord of hosts. But who can endure the day of his coming? And who can stand when he appears? He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap."

Have you ever wondered what is happening in your life, our country, the world and where we are headed? Now is the time to give your heart to Jesus and trust him with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding, but acknowledge him in everything and he will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).

My prayer is that we as the church will be the church and go outside the walls and let others see the love of God in us. It's time to wake up, look up, and realize the power and authority God has given to us as Christians.
