Lewis County grand jury hands up 12 indictments

The Lewis County grand jury returned 12 indictments this week, including one for a Weston man charged with striking a person and then allowing his pit bull to continue the attack.

William A. Miller, 24, of 3963 Glady Fork Road, was indicted on a charge of malicious wounding. According to court records, Miller struck a man in the head with a metal table leg, and he then allowed his pit bull to attack the victim. The dog reportedly had to be pulled from the man after it had taken him down and was biting and scratching him.

Miller was also indicted on a separate and unrelated charge of child abuse resulting in injury. He is being held in the Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond. A motion to reduce bond was denied in circuit court in January.

Others indicted by the grand jury included Edward Tracie Wolfe Jr., 20, of 1593 Kleins Run Road, Alum Bridge, on two charges of failing to provide a change of information as required by the Sex Offender Registration Act.

Michele Lee Fisher, no age or address listed in court documents, was indicted on charges of obtaining property in return for a worthless check, forgery and uttering.

Thomas B. Sowell, 19, of RR2, Box 153, Jane Lew, was indicted on a grand larceny charge.

Heidi Anne Howard, 39, of 6 Swecker Village, Buckhannon, was indicted on a charge of obtaining property in return for a worthless check.

Sandie L. Orebaugh, 39, of Lord's Valley, Pennsylvania, was indicted on two counts of forgery, two counts of the fraudulent use of an access device and one count of uttering.

Randel Adam McVey, 25, of 4929 Old Mill Road, Jane Lew, was indicted on charges of conspiracy and the fraudulent use of an access device.

James Marcus Taylor, 46, of 776 Dutch Hollow Road, Weston, was indicted on a charge of failing to provide a change of information as required by the Sex Offender Registration Act.

Kenneth James Lindsay, 26, of 914 Cemetery St., Weston, was indicted on grand larceny and concealing stolen property charges.

Heather A. Black, 29, of Glenville, was indicted on two counts of burglary, two counts of conspiracy and one count of grand larceny.

Kristen R. Butcher, 21, of Glenville, was indicted on two counts of burglary, two counts of conspiracy and one count of grand larceny.

Adam Ryan Huntz, 29, of 297 Horse Run Road, Weston, was indicted on forgery and uttering charges.

Arraignments for those indicted will be conducted at 9 a.m. Friday in circuit court.
