Krista Marie Cunningham and Richard Nelson Ward were united in marriage on Feb. 12 at Wayside United Methodist Church in Elkins. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Walter Ellison.
The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Brenda Cunningham of Davis. She is the granddaughter of John and Carolyn Cunningham of Whitmer and Ronald and Alma Whitehair of Davis.
The bridegroom is the son of Paul Ward of Parsons and Onda Riddle of Moorefield. He is the grandson of Harry and Deloris Allender of Pheasant and the late Alston and Edna Jones formerly of Parsons.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a white chiffon a-line spaghetti strap gown. She carried a traditional bouquet of daises, pink carnations, and red and pink roses.
Serving as matron of honor was Ashley Cunningham, sister of the bride. She wore an apple red crinkle chiffon short dress with back cascade detail. She carried a bouquet similar to the bride's.
Serving as best man was Jason Wright, friend of the bridegroom.
The flowers for the ceremony were prepared by Steven's Florist of Parsons.
Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted at The Steer Steakhouse in Elkins. The two-tier heart shaped wedding cake was made by Suzanne Carter.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Tucker County High School, 2004 graduate of Potomac State College of West Virginia University, and a 2006 graduate of Davis & Elkins College with a bachelor's degree in accounting. She is employed by Woodford Oil Co. in Elkins.
The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Tucker County High School. He is employed by Pioneer Wireline Services in Buckhannon.
The couple resides in Buckhannon.
