The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 6 p.m. for southwestern Pocahontas, southwestern Webster, northeast Fayette and Nicholas counties.
At 5:25 p.m., NWS Doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph was located along a line from Camden on Gauley to Nettie to Ansted moving east at 40 mph.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 9 p.m. for central West Virginia, central Kentucky, southeast Ohio and central Virginia.
