April 30, 2011
The Inter-Mountain

Match donors from around the region are joining forces to support Run For It, a Tucker Community Foundation grant program that encourages participation in a 2K/5K walk and run to benefit community causes throughout the region. Additional match donor support from Tucker County Commission, Dominion Power, St. George Medical Clinic, Mettiki Coal, Mr. Anonymous, Western Pocahontas Properties, MonPower, Canaan Valley Resort, Kingsford Manufacturing, Davis Health Systems, Wendy's of North Central West Virginia, Dave & Edi Vernon, HCE Inc., Mountain Valley Bank, John and Debbie Brown, Scott & Nypl Accounting Firm, Davis Dental, Edward Jones/Chris Fry, Grant County Bank, WV Paving, Kevin and Debbie White, Picket Patch, Mon General Hospital, Davis Trust, and Best of Canaan Realty has added $20,000 to the grant awards provided by TCF. The purse, now at $30,000, can continue to grow with additional match donor support.

Grant awards benefit causes represented by teams and individuals demonstrating best effort, best of county, most money raised, and the fastest 5K and first to finish 2K (walk only) youth, adult and masters, male/female, on race day.

Registration for the 2011 campaign is now open. Participants raising the most support during the months preceding the race are eligible for the largest grant awards, so early registration is encouraged. Event packets and entry forms are available for download and a complete list of 2011 match donors can be viewed at the Run For It link at www.tuckerfoundation.net.
