The West Virginia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will host a social media seminar on May 18 at Stonewall Resort. Titled "Social Media-Strategy, Implementation and Evaluation," the presentation will provide attendees with information to guide them in the use of social media in their business.
Three panelists will discuss various aspects of social media. Robert Holland, owner of Holland Communications in Richmond, Virginia, will speak about "How to Get the Greatest Value from Social Media." The session will include an overview of the business value social media has the potential to provide, and will touch on deciding what results to measure.
Holland has more than 20 years of experience in organizational communication, including employee communication planning, publication management, consulting, media relations and change communication. He is a contributor to several national and international professional journals and has served on the executive board of the International Association of Business Communicators.
Paige Nunn, manager of Domino's Customer Services Planning, Research and Analysis Division, based in Richmond, Virginia, will discuss how Dominion developed its strategy for social media.
John Bolt, director of University Relations/News at West Virginia (WVU), will talk about how WVU uses social media to directly engage its audiences, using Facebook, Foursquare and other social media sites.
"Social Media-Strategy, Implementation and Evaluation" will begin at 11:30 a.m. and run until 4:30 p.m. with the opportunity for a question-and-answer-session following the presentations. Lunch will be included. Cost is $45, and reservations can be made online at www.prsawv.org
