The rules are simple for the annual West Virginia Birthday Cake Contest planned as part of Weston's Amazing Week. This year, the contest will be a Cupcake Challenge with West Virginia's birthday as the theme for the competition.
Bakers should present at least 12 cupcakes. There is a $75 first-place prize for the cupcakes with half the judging determined by the decorating and half by the taste of the cupcake. There will be a $20 prizes for teens/children category.
Judging will be on June 22 at 11:30 a.m. at the Lewis County Senior Center on West Second Street in Weston.
