Dance under the stars with Dr. Chuck

June 13, 2011
The Inter-Mountain

Dance to the Big Band sound or simply sit back and enjoy the music of Dr. Chuck, well-known local musician, under the stars at Adaland at Philippi on June 18 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The evening breeze blowing across Adaland's side yard pavilion will cool the evening's guests after they work up a sweat on the dance floor.

An early evening of swinging jazz rhythms and pounds of decadent chocolate await visitors to this special event, according to an Adaland spokesperson. Accentuating the sweet sounds of Dr. Chuck's saxophone, vocals and keyboard will be a host of chocolate treats including chocolate peanut butter cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate pie, chocolate cheesecake, chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate syrup over chunks of fresh fruit. Adaland will provide set ups, plastic glasses and ice for guests to the BYOB event.

Dr. Chuck, better known to his friends and colleagues in the area as Dr. Chuck Ervin, has spent most of his life bringing musical enjoyment to others. Ervin spent three years in a Navy band playing in ports throughout the world and later was a professor at Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi for 30 years. Following an early retirement, Ervin returned to performance providing music for a variety of eager audiences throughout Southwest Florida, Ohio, and West Virginia.
