Energy Express seeks help

June 25, 2011
The Inter-Mountain
The Energy Express program at Philippi Elementary School is seeking volunteers to assist with the six-week program, which began June 21 and concludes on July 29. Mentors and community coordinators are, from left, Ben Milem, Wendy Phillips, Melanie Hanifan, Lindsay Bracey and Emily McNeil, and Lindsey Graham, site supervisor. Energy Express is a free fun-filled summer reading and nutrition program with art projects, fun activities, books and two nutritious family-style meals each day. Children receive a book of their own to take home each week and complete lots of found object art projects that will be taken home at the end of the program. Sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Mondays through Fridays. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer may call 304-457-4229.
