Ken and Laura Auvil of Belington celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 27 at home with their family.
Mr. Auvil is the son of the late Dallas and Goldie Auvil.
Mrs. Auvil is the daughter of the late Miles and Louise Davis.

After graduation, the two Salem College sweethearts were apart for two years, but continued to send love letters. Mr. Auvil was in the military in Germany, while Mrs. Auvil had a career with the YMCA in Connecticut.
On a snowy, winter evening in Salem's candle-lit Methodist Church adorned with snow-covered pine, the couple repeated their wedding vows.
The Auvils have three children, Brad of California, Alicia of New York City and Miles and wife, Lauren, of Annapolis, Maryland. They also have two grandchildren, Colin and Madeleine of Annapolis, Maryland.
