The Teter CEOS met June 16 at the home of Janet Smith. The co-hostess for the meeting was Joyce DeBarr.
The meeting was called to order by the president Justine Woody.
Joyce DeBarr led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Sheila Dowell led devotions with a "Tribute to Old Glory". The treasurer's report was also approved and placed on file for audit.
Edith Logsdon presented the lesson ‘Seven Wonders of the World.’
Janet Smith, Sheila Dowell, Joyce DeBarr, and Justine Woody cleaned up trash at the recycle center.
Jerry Stankers, Cathy Debarr, Millee Hornbeck, and Carol Biser played Bingo and had a party at the third floor with residents of St. Joseph's Hospital.
Several members were reading from the purposeful list of books.
It was decided to have a picnic on July 28 at 5 p.m. at the Mount Carmel Church pavilion.
In new business, discussion was held for the Mini Fair and CEOS Window in September.
Justine asked for members to participate in the Upshur County Fair July 14-17.
The advisory board will meet at Lorentz Community Building July 14 at 7 p.m.
The August meeting will be held at noon for lunch and meeting at Faith Mountain Lodge August 10.
For Show and Tell, Carol Biser brought an old 1940-50's book of minutes and many other very interesting things that the Lorentz Extension Homemakers did in those days. The book had belonged to her mother-in-law.
Edith Logsdon gave a very interesting lesson on the "Seven Wonders of the World". All members of the Teter CEOS decided that West Virginia has many wonders of its own, and you don't have to go around the world to find a more wonderful place than West Virginia.
Delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses to Carol Biser, Dale Ann Curry, Joyce DeBarr, Sheila Dowell, Vonnie Hager, Millie Hornbeck, Edith Logsdon, Janet Smith, Jerry Stankers, Pat Straden, Iris Mae Swecker, Justine Woody, and Barbra White.
Each member received a gift of shower gel and body mist. The door prize was won by Millie Hornbeck.
