Golf - God Offers Love and Forgiveness - is a methaphor for life, and a weekend outing to celebrate that thought is scheduled for Thursday through July 23 at Riverbend Golf Course in Buckhannon and Stonewall Resort in Roanoke.
Thursday's events include a youth tournament at Riverbend. Registration is $20 for those ages 13 and older, which is for 18 holes and a lunch, and $15 for those 12 and younger, which is for nine holes and lunch. Registration is from 8-8:30 a.m., opening ceremonies will be at 8:30 a.m., followed by a short golf clinic. The tournament will start at 10 a.m.
An all-day event will be hosted on Friday for all ages at Riverbend. The cost is $40 for golf and two meals, and $20 for either a morning or an afternoon round and one meal. The registration begins at 8 a.m., and opening ceremonies will be at 8:45 a.m. The morning rounds will start at 10 a.m., and lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. The afternoon ceremony starts at 1 p.m., and golfers will tee off at 2 p.m.
A par-3 and putting contests will be conducted at 4 p.m., and dinner will be served at 5 p.m. The evening concludes with a gospel sing.
The event on July 23 will be at the Stonewall Resort, and the deadline to enter that event is Sunday.
Registration begins at 1:30 p.m, followed by devotions at 2 p.m. The golfing begins at 3 p.m.
