The state champion Elkins 15-year-old All-Stars will be holding two fundraising events over the weekend.
The team is raising money for its trip to Owensboro (Ky.) where it will compete in the Ohio Valley Babe Ruth Regional next week.
A "Meet the Team" event is scheduled for today and will get under way at 2 p.m. at Robin Harvey Memorial Field.
The event was scheduled for Friday but postponed due to bad weather. There will be silent auction with merchandise totaling over $1,000, a cake walk and a dunking booth.
The concession stand will be open and the players will take to the field to demonstrate their baseball skills. "All the funds raised will go toward the team and their trip to the regionals," said Elkins Babe Ruth president Robin Spicer.
Elkins will battle teams from Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan at the regionals.
Also today, the team will be holding a car wash at the Davis Home Plus parking lot, located on Randolph Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
