Federal grand jury indicts Beverly man

A 31-year-old Beverly resident was named in a two-count indictment returned on Aug. 9 by a federal grand jury sitting in Elkins.

Gregory Stephen Scott is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana in the fall of 2010 in Randolph County and possession with intent to distribute marijuana on Dec. 14 in Franklin.

The indictment also contains a forfeiture allegation wherein the U.S. seeks to forfeit $18,078 in United States currency, three cellular telephones and marijuana paraphernalia seized from defendant. Scott faces a maximum exposure of five years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 on each count.
