"Braden has been playing very consistent golf, even though he's just a freshman," said Elkins coach David Baird. "This is the second time he has been the low scorer for us this season. If he continues to play the way he has, the rest of the team will soon start to shine."

Kollin Hopwood followed Hammond with a 40. Houston Schuler (45), Zack Elmore (47) and Alex Baird (49) followed.

Dalton Westfall led Buckhannon-Upshur with a 43. Alex Louk and Jacob Hinzman both tallied a score of 44.

J.D. Cristlip and Matt Cunningham both hit 49s for the Buccaneers.

Both teams will return to action on Monday when they travel to Stonewall Jackson Resort for the Top Flight Invitational.

Philip Barbour and Lewis County will also compete in the tourney, which will feature 30 teams from throughout West Virginia.
