Elkins defeated Buckhannon-Upshur in a dual-match Friday at the Elks Country Club.
The Tigers finished with a team-score of 169. The Buccaneers hit a 180.
Braden Hammond led Elkins' attack and was the low medalist with a 37.

Elkins High School’s Houston Schuler, left photo, tees off on hole No. 5 at the Elks Country Club on Friday. Schuler shot a 45 on the day to help the Tigers go on for a victory over Buckhannon-Upshur. The Buccaneers’ Jacob Hinzman, top photo, chips on to the green on hole No. 4. Hinzman finished the day with a 44. Both teams will compete against 30 squads Monday in the Top Flight Invitational at Stonewall Jackson Resort
"Braden has been playing very consistent golf, even though he's just a freshman," said Elkins coach David Baird. "This is the second time he has been the low scorer for us this season. If he continues to play the way he has, the rest of the team will soon start to shine."
Kollin Hopwood followed Hammond with a 40. Houston Schuler (45), Zack Elmore (47) and Alex Baird (49) followed.
Dalton Westfall led Buckhannon-Upshur with a 43. Alex Louk and Jacob Hinzman both tallied a score of 44.
J.D. Cristlip and Matt Cunningham both hit 49s for the Buccaneers.
Both teams will return to action on Monday when they travel to Stonewall Jackson Resort for the Top Flight Invitational.
Philip Barbour and Lewis County will also compete in the tourney, which will feature 30 teams from throughout West Virginia.
