Arch and Jewell Hoover will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 26.
The couple were married in Valley Head by the late Rev. Bickel.
Mr. Hoover is the son of the late Jess and Etrula Hoover. He is a retired coal miner.

Mrs. Hoover is the daughter of the late Brooks and Charlsie Sharp.
They have one daughter, Pam, who is married to Mike Wamsley.
