For the second straight year, Weston business woman Kathy Sims has been selected as president of the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce.
Sims, a resident of Cottage Avenue in Weston, will guide the local chamber during the 2011-2012 and 2012- 2013 terms.
Other chamber board members chosen to serve as officers are E. Michael Hines, first vice president; Katherine Friend, second vice president; Mike Hager, treasurer and Sherry Lambert, secretary. Lambert was also re-elected as executive director.
The annual Lewis County Chamber of Commerce Dinner will be staged at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Mount Vernon Dining Hall on the historic grounds of WVU Jackson's Mill. A reception will proceed the dinner at 5 p.m. at the West Virginia Building. Awards will be presented in four categories at the fete including Lewis County Chamber Member of the Year; Lewis Countian of the Year, Business of the Year and the President's Award.
Nominations are now being accepted for the awards (except the President's Award) and can be sent in care of the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce, 115 E. Second St., Weston 26452. Dinner tickets will be available in the future at a cost of $30 each.
