Be sure to you ask to see contractors’ licenses

I would like to warn you to check out your contractors, tree service or whatever your needs may be. I know that there are people who are doing this work in the community who have no business license, let alone any insurance should anything happen to your property or your home. I know I would be pretty ticked if someone cut a tree on my house and I was out that kind of loss.

Make sure that you also know who is towing your vehicle. There are strict rules that have to be met before someone can just put your car on a rollback and take off, and again they have to have insurance not only to cover their vehicle but yours, too.

Therefore I ask you to protect yourself and ask for their license, proof of insurance and business license before you are out a lot of money. It would do you no good to sue because these people usually have nothing. And it is your right as a consumer to ask for all their proof that they are certified to be doing business. You many save a few bucks by hiring them but you might just lose your house or vehicle. Spend that extra buck and pay for a licensed professional.
