The Tucker County Senior Center has staff available to help people with the Prescription Assistance Program.

According to officials, if you do not have insurance to pay for your prescription drugs and you meet some basic qualifications, you may be eligible to obtain medication at little or no cost through the PAP. For more information, call Senior Center Outreach Worker Ann Filler.

Tucker County Senior Center and its satellite locations will be closed on Monday in observance of the Labor Day holiday. The centers will reopen Sept. 6 on the regular schedule.

Because of the holiday, there will not be a Parsons Outpost in September.

By now, the participants going on the Sept. 2-12 Mt. Rushmore trip should have received their trip itinerary, luggage tags and all information. If you have any questions, call the senior center.

As of Friday, eight more people need to sign up for the Oct. 11 trip to Wheeling and the Capitol Music Hall to enjoy the Carl Hurley Comedy Show and visit the Cabella's and other shopping places. Officials said there has to be enough people sign up to keep the reservation for the chartered bus. A decision will need to be made by Sept. 6 as to whether the trip will go on.

The senior center is taking names of people interested in attending the Treasure Mt. Festival at Franklin on Sept. 17. For more information, call the senior center as soon as possible.

The price for the Dec. 6-9 Christmas trip to New York is $540 per person. Officials will be calling the people who have signed the list in the next few days. They will have first choice. Any space left will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If you are interested, call the center.
