Main Street Arts Festival returns to Buckhannon

September 15, 2011
The Inter-Mountain

The second annual Main Street Arts Festival, "Celebrating the Creative," is gearing up for a busy day of appreciating the arts of West Virginia. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, visitors to Buckhannon's Main Street can enjoy more than 20 artists showcasing and demonstrating their talents.

The event also will feature continuous live music and performances, and food from local vendors.

Artists who will line the street will include jewelry designers, a knife maker, sculptors and painters. George Brown, who recently won third place in the Best of West Virginia for his stone sculptures, will be one of the artists.

Music and dance will be performed throughout the day, allowing the sounds of Appalachia to trickle in and out of the festival's booths and downtown shops.

While taking in the festivities, local food vendors will be selling a variety of treats, including juicy pork barbecue and fresh fruit smoothies.
