Man its hard to be humble when you're so perfect in every way. Yes, being perfect on all of my high school picks last week has given me a case of swollen head, but not to worry, because I'm enjoying it to the very end.
I did, however, miss on my only college pick, but hey, I'm a doctor of high school football as you can see.
It would appear that everything is coming up roses here at the clinic. How about that East Hardy 16-point win over Pocahontas County, when I called it to be 17. You got to admit, that ain't too shabby.
Some of the doctors "Dandy Dozen" are off to a banner seasons with the likes of Elkins at 3-1, and East Hardy and Moorefield at 3-0 and 3-1, respectively.
On the other hand, poor old Buckhannon-Upshur, Tygarts Valley and Philip Barbour have yet to get a win.
Tucker County seems to have fallen on hard times by losing their last two and now stand at 2-2 on the season. But enough about the past, because we only deal with the future here at the clinic.
Buckhannon-Upshur (0-4) at Grafton (4-0): Boy, talk about going from the frying pan into the fire. The Bucs without a win get to tangle with a team without a loss. It's gotta be Grafton by 24 points.
East Hardy (3-0) at Tygarts Valley (0-3): Here are the top and the bottom of the doctors list going after it, and it looks to me that the Cougars will win. East Hardy by 35. Come on Bulldogs, make me eat crow.
Robert C. Byrd (3-1) at Elkins (3-1): It looks to me that one of these teams will have their second loss, and I don't think it will be the home team. Elkins in somewhat of an upset by 6 points, and it just might happen in OT.
Nicholas County (2-1) at Lewis County (2-2): After downing East side last week, the Minutemen just love that feeling and that's why it will be Lewis County by 14.
Moorefield (3-1) at Warren (Va.): I know nothing about the Virginia team, but I do know a little about the Yellow Jackets, and I know I shouldn't bet against them. I'll take Moorefield by 16.
Meadow Bridge (3-0) at Pendleton County (1-2): Meadow Bridge has a long way to travel to stay undefeated and the doctor says the Wildcats are ready to get out of their slump. I see a 2-point upset for Pendleton.
Richwood (1-3) ast Pocahontas County (2-2): The Warriors are back home and I could pick this one with my one eye tied behind my back. Pocahontas will take it by 17.
North Marion (1-3) at Preston County (1-2): Two teams with one win each. Wait a cotton pickin minute, I see the Huskies changing all of that. North Marion by 3 for its second in a row.
LSU (2-0) at WVU (3-0): Here comes the big one Saturday night and all of the nation will be watching. How so you spell Upset? That easy, you spell it West Virginia by 3, and most likely in an overtime game. Now remember, I dont normally do good in the college ranks as I'm strictly a high school guy.
Now for a few lines from "ASK DR. ELMO."
A man in Pickins asked: Doctor do you believe that the Number 2 pencil is the most popular one? The doctor said: Yes, I do believe the number 2 pencil is the most used. Now I'll ask you, why isn't it the Number 1 pencil?
A woman from Maysville inquired: Doctor do you know how long congressmen serve in office? Elmo answered: They serve till they get caught.
A young lad from Bayard asked: Dr. Elmo do you agree that man does not live on bread alone? Elmo answered: I certainly do, because man also needs some peanut butter and jelly.
A Middle age guy from French Creek asked: Doctor, I've heard you say that you've had bad luck all of your life, but wouldn't you agree that some day your ship will come in? Elmo answered: I do agree that some day my ship will come in. But with my bad luck, on that day I'll most likely be at the bus depot and miss it.
That's about all for now, I'll catch ya next week, I hope.
