Ebel - LaFayette

Sara LaFayette and Michael Ebel were married on Sept. 24 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen, N.C. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Jonathan Wallace.

The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Evette LaFayette of Beverly. She is the granddaughter of Troy Tackett of Mill Creek.

The bridegroom is the son of Robert and Teresa Ebel of Seven Lakes, N.C.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a white, fit-and-flare gown featuring a hand beaded satin strap. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of red dahlias with touches of gold and yellow to compliment the wedding party.

Serving as the matron of honor was Emily Earl, sister of the bride, and as maid of honor, Elizabeth LaFayette, also sister of the bride. Both wore flame red one-strap satin gowns accompanied by pearls, and carried bouquets of red and yellow dahlias. Bridesmaids Amber McCloud, Ashley Walker, Mary-ann Kroll and Shelly Coble are all friends of the bride. They wore flame red scoop neck A-line satin gowns, and carried a single gold dahlia.

Serving as best man was Austin Ebel, son of the bridegroom. Attendants, all close friends of the bridegroom, included Oy Siharat, Greg Zwart, Danny Stone, Lee Gatling and Elliot Estes. All wore black satin pin-striped tuxedos with flame red ties and vests.

Other members of the bridal party were Hannah Ebel, flower girl, and Isaiah McIe, ring bearer, daughter and nephew of the bridegroom. Mandy Quick served as soloist, and Kelsie Boles performed on the piano. Photography was by Amy Moyer and floral arrangements by Aldena Frye.

After the ceremony, a reception was hosted at Southern Pines Country Club with catering provided by Peggy Davis. The three-tier wedding cake featured a ceramic cake topper of a policeman carrying a woman with a stethoscope, representing the bridegroom's position as a city of Pinehurst policeman, and the bride, who is s practicing physician assistant.

Following a honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Aberdeen, N.C.
