The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce has honored Bruce Blankenship and J. Nikky Luna as Members of the Month for October.
Blankenship is the new vice president for business and finance at Alderson-Broaddus College. Luna recently was appointed vice president of institutional advancement at A-B.
Luna was born in Seoul, South Korea, and raised in Parkersburg, where she graduated from Parkersburg High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in applied music and communications at A-B, attended the University of Southern Mississippi and will complete a master's degree from West Virginia University next spring.
She was an admissions counselor at A-B before becoming director of choral activities at the Richton United Methodist Church in Mississippi. She was director of annual giving at West Virginia Wesleyan College before rejoining A-B as director of alumni relations, foundation and government relations and as major gifts officer. She was appointed vice president for advancement at A-B in June.
Blankenship was born in Richwood and graduated from Richwood High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology from West Virginia University and a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Theological Seminary. He was vice president for planning and technology at Alderson-Broaddus College for 10 years before serving as a senior systems analyst at DB Consulting Group in Fairmont. He was appointed vice president for administration and finance at A-B on Oct. 1.
He is the moderator of the Philippi Baptist Church, vice chairman of the Baptist Campus Ministry Board and a member of the Philippi Planning Commission.
