Heavner Grove CEOS hosted its Oct. 10 meeting at the home of Shirley Warner.
Eloise Tenney, acting president, called the meeting to order. Hilda Ketterman, devotional leader, read from Psalm 34:1-5 and Living for Freedom and a story, "Shirley's Story." Helen Lantz read the minutes and they were approved. Mildred White gave the treasurer's report. Sharon Carr gave the opening prayer.
Upshur County CEOS had 26,500 volunteer hours and Heavner Grove CEOS had 3,000 hours.
Ima Jean Goodwin, Eloise Tenney and Joyce Zirkle attended Breast Awareness Day. Joyce Booth, Goodwin and Tenney attended the Tupperware bingo. Cards were sent to Oneta Stone, Sara Kerns and Dora Brown. A thank-you card was sent to Delegate William Hamilton.
Learn and Return was Nov. 7 at Chapel Hill Church. Heavner Grove CEOS turned in 23 Blankets of Hope. Carr presented an interesting lesson on organization. Goodwin gave each member a traveling sewing kit. A current events quiz was answered 95 percent correctly, with each member being assessed 10 cents for an incorrect bonus question.
Door prizes were given to Letha Light, Elaine Wright and Eloise Tenney. Show and tell was given by Joyce Zirkle about baby blankets; Helen Lantz with a harvest scarecrow basket; and Judy Haddix read a story, "Ode to the Hankie."

The November meeting, covered dish, was scheduled at Mt. Rupert Church with Sharon Carr as hostess.
