Donations from two different sources are providing Philippi Public Library patrons and employees with much-appreciated conveniences, said Library Director Judy Buckner Larry.
The Tucker Community Foundation awarded a mini grant to the local library enabling the library to replace a nonfunctioning water fountain. Library employee Michele Cook noted that everyone has enjoyed having ready access to the cool water. The library extends its thanks to both TCF and the city of Philippi employees who installed the fountain.
Another recent addition to the library is the large book drop-off container in the rear parking lot of the library. Cal Lenderman checks for any new returns. This large, easily accessible container keeps library materials safe and also makes drop-off at any time easy for patrons. This addition is the result of the generosity of World Vision.
Michele Cook was recognized by the Philippi Public Library for her contributions.
Cal Lenderman checks for returned books at the Philippi Public Library, and was recently honored.
Larry said the library is the recipient of local support from both individuals and businesses in addition to the two groups already named. For example, Heart and Hand House and Haven of Hope Thrift Store have provided art supplies for library activities. Larry said she is happy to discuss possible donations with any prospective donor and expressed her sincere gratitude to all those who have contributed to the improvement of the library.
