Family and friends of Opal V. Warner Bennett gathered at the Dailey Fire Hall to celebrate her 90th birthday on Oct. 30. She was surprised with a dinner and birthday cake.
Mrs. Bennett was born Oct. 30, 1921, at Hunting Ground in Cherry Grove. She is the daughter of the late Amby Warner and Surrilda Waybright Warner.
She was married to the late Maxwell Bennett for 68 years. She is the mother of four children, the late Lois L. Bennett, Maxwell Bennett Jr., Michael Bennett and wife, Maggie, and Jeff Bennett and wife, Pat. She is also has five grandchildren, Clinton Bennett, Michael Bennett II, Jeffrey Bennett, Justin Bennett and Julie Supak; three stepgrandchildren, Anthony, William and Stephanie; and six great-grandchildren, Adryana, Corinne, Nyla, Eryn, Hailey and Raven.
