Phyllis Deffet and Nancy Righman were honored by the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce as Members of the Month for November.
Deffet is a new accounts and CIF specialist at Freedom Bank. Righman is president and CEO of Freedom Bank.
Deffet graduated from Philip Barbour High School and attended the Nancy Taylor Business College at Fairmont. She is a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church at Tacy, where she serves on the Fiance Committee. She was president of the Barbour Chamber in 2001.

Righman graduated from Philip Barbour High School, Fairmont Business College and West Virginia Bankers Association School of Banking. She is a 2010 graduate of Leadership West Virginia, and completed the Dale Carnegie course and various classes related to lending, human resources and marketing. She has been employed at Freedom Bank since 1996.
She is a member of the Barbour County Farm Bureau, West Virginia Cattleman's Association and an alumna of Leadership West Virginia. She is a member of the West Virginia All Stars and the Advisory Committee of the Barbour County Future Farmers of America.
The focus and philosophy of Freedom Bank, Deffet and Righman said, is to continue to maintain a strong community foundation in its markets and to support the people of its service area, including civic and youth organizations. Freedom Bank partners in education with three area schools and sponsors the Bottle Rocket Challenge for all middle and high schools throughout West Virginia in honor of Freida J. Riley, the teacher who inspired author Homer Hickam and the Rocket Boys.
