Coy and Glenda Pat Kirkpatrick of Victoria, Texas, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 3 with a family and friends celebration at Goose Island State Park in Lamar, Texas.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was born and grew up in Elkins, the son of Luther Coy and Beatrice Kirkpatrick
Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born and grew up in Rockport, Texas, a daughter of Ingle Willie and Jimmie "Nanny" Turner.

The couple met when Mr. Kirkpatrick was stationed in Rockport, Texas, while serving in the United States Air Force. The Kirkpatricks have lived in various cities in South Texas since 1961 when Mr. Kirkpatrick began working for CP&L. They started off in Aransas Pass, followed by Rockport, Victoria, Portland, Edna and Uvalde. The couple then retired to Victoria, where they still reside today.
The couple's two children, Christy Dawn Uhl of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Craig Scott Kirkpatrick of Victoria, Texas, coordinated the reception at Goose Island State Park and a previous trip to Elkins this fall to celebrate with family and friends. The couple also has six grandchildren, Lindsay Uhl, Brittany Slaughter, Bethany Uhl, Ashley Slaughter, Brooke Kirkpatrick and Taylor Kirkpatrick.
During the reception and dinner, the Kirkpatrick's 50 years together were celebrated by their children and their spouses, all of their grandchildren and more than 50 of their closest family members and friends. Also attending were special guests, Dallas and Pam Ford from Tivoli, Texas, who have both been the couple's friends for more than 50 years.
