Lady Senators top UPJ

Page Turner had a team-high 18 points to lead Davis & Elkins past Pitt-Johnstown 75-63 Thursday night in WVIAC action at the McDonnell Center.

Jorden Lykes followed with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Rachel Gostomski chipped in with nine points for the Lady Senators (8-6, 7-3 WVIAC), who led 44-31 at halftime.

Kaitlynn Fratz fired in 21 points, while Nicole Carman and Sara Trimarco had 13 points each for the Lady Mountain Lions (5-8, 3-6).

Davis & Elkins visits Concord Tuesday for another WVIAC?matchup starting at 7:30 p.m.

Shepherd 59, A-B 55

PHILIPPI - Emily Daniel had 17 points to lead Shepherd past Alderson-Broaddus 59-55 Thursday night in WVIAC action at Rex Pyles Arena.

Rachel Johnson followed with nine points, while Jimsye Brown and Katie Briggs chipped in with eight points each for the Lady Rams (5-8, 3-7 WVIAC).

Amanda Peoples fired in 17 points and Zipporah Tidwell added 11 points for the Lady Battlers (5-8, 3-7).

Alderson-Broaddus will host Salem-International Saturday at 5:15 p.m.

A-B 83, Shepherd 66

PHILIPPI - Kurlin Bohanon fired in 32 points to lead Alderson-Broaddus past Shepherd 83-66 Thursday night in WVIAC action at Rex Pyles Arena.

Nate Barnes followed with 14 points, while Roy Brown added 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Battlers (10-2, 9-1 WVIAC).

A-B held a 32-29 lead at halftime.

Chad Moore finished with a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Rams (8-6, 6-4).

Brantley Osborne added 15 points, while Sidney McCray chipped in with 13 points for Shepherd.

Alderson-Broaddus entertains Salem-International Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Middle School

EMS?DROPS?PAIR: The Elkins Middle School boys basketball teams dropped a pair of games to Taylor County on Thursday.

Taylor County won the varsity contest 68-30.

Chris Smith finished with 23 points and Austin Newlon added 11 points for the Knights.

Brant Hyre fired in 10 points, while Dale Jackson added five for the Hornets (3-6).

Taylor County won the junior varsity contest 39-37.

Nick Walton had 14 points to lead Taylor County.

Kobe Haynes finished with 10 points and Jacob White added nine points for the Hornets (5-4).

Elkins will entertain Tucker Valley Monday at 7 p.m.

ELKINS?GIRLS FALL: The Elkins Middle School girls basketball teams dropped a pair of games to Taylor County on Thursday.

Taylor County won the varsity contest 47-5.

Logan Dudley had four points to lead the Lady Hornets (4-8).

Taylor County won the junior varsity contest 42-25.

Sierra Poling finished with 15 points to lead EMS (1-11).
