The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce will host a public meeting with Barbour County's legislators Saturday in Philippi.
Sens. Bob Williams, D-14th District, and Dave Sypolt, R-14th District; and Delegate Mary Poling, D-40th District, will report on the current issues facing the West Virginia Legislature and their impact on the local community. Each legislator is a member of several legislative committees.
Every citizen is invited to attend the meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. Saturday in the restored historic courtroom of the Barbour County Courthouse in Philippi.
Poling is a Barbour native and graduate of Philip Barbour High School and West Virginia University. She was a mathematics teacher in Barbour schools prior to her retirement in 2002. She was elected to the West Virginia House of Representatives in 2001 and is currently the chair of the House Education Committee.
