GRAFTON?- Grafton fought off a pesky Lewis County squad Thursday night, pulling away in the fourth quarter for a 46-31 victory.
The Lady Bearcats outscored the Minutemaids 17-6 in the final frame to secure the win.
"We played them hard and I am proud of their effort," Lewis County head coach Dave Gosa said. "We are playing a lot of young girls and they are giving it their best. We kept it close but could not overcome the turnovers."
Lewis County led 10-6 after one quarter, but ten second-quarter turnovers led to a 19-16 Grafton lead at the half.
Haley Mulholland scored 11 points to lead Lewis County. Jodi Chapman scoring 10 and Jayme Burkhart led the rebounding effort with 10.
Devin Pryor scored 17 points to lead Grafton. Morgan Cox added 13.
Lewis County (0-14) will host Bridgeport Tuesday.
