Sherwood D. "Woody" Brown Sr., 70, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, Jan. 22, 2012, at his residence.
He was born July 14, 1941, at Elkins, the son of the late Sherwood H. and Jane Carder Brown.
He retired from Honda of America Manufacturing, Marysville, Ohio, after 16 years of service. Prior to that time, he worked for the GTW Railroad for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary C. Horstman Brown; three children and spouses, Sherwood D. "Duane" Brown Jr., Stephanie Mullenix, Greg and Heidi Brown, all of Springfield, Ohio; five grandchildren, Chelsea Brown, Hannah and Grace Mullenix, Nicholas and Noah Brown; two great-grandchildren, Ally and Jacob; one sister, Donna McGee of Elkins; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dick and Belinda Horstman of Springfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by one daughter, Terri Lynn Brown Leath, in 1986; one brother, Donnie L. Brown; and sister, Doris A. Burnside.
Funeral services were conducted at Conroy Funeral Home in Springfield, Ohio on Thursday, Jan. 26, with the Rev. Sam Waldron officiating. Burial was in Ferncliff Cemetery at Springfield, Ohio.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, in his name in honor of his mother, Jane, and sister, Doris.
