Martha Spotloe Casto, beloved mother and grandmother, achieved eternal life Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins after a brief illness.
The coal miner's daughter and lifelong resident of Barbour County was born June 1, 1929, at Century and resided in Carrollton community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Ida Vance Spotloe; a brother, James Spotloe; and ex-husband, Eugene Casto.
Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Pamela Casto Hamilton of Huntington; a son, Rexell Eugene Casto and wife, Pam, of Carrollton community; a grandson, Rex Allen Casto; a brother, Lloyd Dale Spotloe of Volga; a sister Janet Boylen of Philippi; and four nieces and four nephews.
Mrs. Casto was formerly employed by Alderson-Broaddus College and West Virginia Wesleyan College as a food service worker. She attended Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and her hobby was reading the Bible.
Cremation was observed with no additional services conducted by the family at this time.
