Gary Lee Bean, 71, of Jackson Park Ave., Buckhannon, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1940, in Upshur County, a son of the late Mayford and Edith Rowan Bean.
On Oct. 21, 1962, he was united in marriage to his first love who survives, Vonda (Bonnie) Marie McDaniels Bean, daughter of the late Oudley Oval and Bertha Lee Shingleton McDaniels.
Also surviving is one daughter, Melissa Lurene Smith and husband, Charles and their children, Donnie, Nicholas, Allen, and baby Cameron, of Buckhannon; four sons, Jacky Lee Bean and his two daughters, Kayla and Kara, of Buckhannon, Gary Eugene Bean and his children, Joshua, Matthew, Brianna and Ashley, of Buckhannon, Jeffrey Allen Bean and his children, Steven, Jeffrey, Jr., Cassandra, Sarah and Emily, of Buckhannon, and David Wayne and wife, Debbie Bean, of Pennsylvania; two great-grandchildren, Gloria and Orion survive.
Also surviving are three sisters, Rose Mary Mackey of Buckhannon, Carol Jean Wolfgang of Ohio and Linda Jo Dean of Buckhannon.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Dale Cemetery.
