Many people may not buy their lifetime hunting and fishing licenses this year with the fear of not being able to use them in the future.
If a National Park comes to our area, licenses may no longer be allowed. This could cause the DNR to lose a lot more revenue, plus discourage senior citizens from buying their one-time license. This comes at a time when the DNR says they need $2 million just to stay afloat. This does not include their daily operations and expenses.
The Legislature needs to take a hard look at this national park proposal and the effects it could have on the economy.
