Paul and Gladys Channell of Elkins celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Feb. 3.
They were married in 1942 at First Methodist Church in Oakland, Md.
Mr. Channell is a retired yardmaster from the Western Maryland Railroad and enjoys playing the guitar.

Mrs. Channell loves quilting and also enjoys genealogy.
They are well known in the area for forming the Elkins Promenaders square dance group and the Recyclers square dance group at the Randolph County Senior Center.
They are the parents of Eddie and wife, Kitty, of Ijamsville, Md., Judy and husband, Roy, of Cumberland, Md., Ron and wife, Vivan, of Philippi, and Don and wife, Pam, of Belington. They have seven grandchildren, Barbie, Shelly, Denise, Todd, Stephanie, J.P. and Julie, and special grandson, Scott. They have 11 great-grandchildren, Garrett, Brett, Kelsey, Tyler, Madison, Sara, Logan, Grace, Catherine, Sawyer and Wyatt.
