Tygarts Valley coach Mike DiPasquale looks on with his team during a recent contest.
The Lady Bulldogs (16-6) handily defeated the Lady Hawks in both contests.
"Even though we beat them twice this season, they're a dangerous team," DiPasquale said. "We're going to have to play and execute in order to come away with a victory."
Tygarts Valley will look to Chelsea Rush to help lead the way. Rush is averaging 14 points and 11 rebounds per game.
Shanda Howell has also had a tremendous season for the Lady Bulldogs, averaging 14 points, 3.5 assists and three steals per game.
"We need Chelsea and Shanda to play their games," DiPasquale said. "And we need to have the rest of our team step up as well."
Emily Pingley, Paige Pritt and Kelsey Arbogast will round out the starting lineup for Tygarts Valley. All three are averaging close to six points per game.
The Lady Bulldogs have won 10 of their last 11 contests, including four straight.
"Our defense has been excellent the last half of the season," DiPasquale said. "We've only been giving close 33 points per game during that time.
"Defense is something we've stressed down the stretch and the girls have responded."
The Lady Hawks will look to Erica Eddy to lead the attack.
"We really need to keep an eye on Eddy," DiPasquale said. "She's a very good post player for them that can hurt us if we don't defend her."
The winner of today's contest will play at Clay-Battelle Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
