State Director Bobby Lewis recently announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development approved a Community Facilities Grant in the amount of $9,000 for Coalton Volunteer Fire Department Inc. in Randolph County.
Rural Development funds will be used to assist in purchasing a new fire station siren and a snow plow.
Rural Development serves as the lead federal entity for rural development needs and administers program assistance through its housing, business, community and infrastructure programs.
