Several Lewis County residents participate in the West Virginia Legislature’s Home School Day on Feb. 22 and are honored by the House of Delegates. A resolution honoring the students and their families was read aloud in the House of Delegates and the participants were presented a copy of the resolution by Speaker Richard Thompson. The home school students, along with their parents and grandparents, met throughout the day with their legislators. Shown here, from left, are Delegate Carol Miller, Melody Sheppard, Ryan Sheppard, Katy Dean, Abigail Rogers, Christina Rogers, Sarah Rogers, Daisy Dean, Sheila James, Delegate Peggy Donaldson Smith and Delegate David Walker. Also attending were Jeanne and Mary James of Lewis County, who are the mother and grandmother of Sheila James.
