Members of Philippi Main Street are continuing to plan for the April 26 Art Stroll, and they hope more visual artists, musicians and artisans will sign up to take part in the popular event.
"We still have exhibit space for artists of all types," said Karen Larry, a local volunteer working with the Art Stroll.
She added that last August's Art Stroll was highly successful, and they hope the spring edition will be just as popular. The Art Stroll will run from 5 to 8 p.m. all along Philippi's Main Street and on the Court House Square.
The 200-plus strollers from last summer's Art Stroll will remember outstanding paintings, watercolors, photographs and sketches from local artists and stained glass, baskets, and fabric creations from local artisans. Also enjoyed by the many strollers was the music provided by local musicians.
Main Street planners hope to have additional art forms on exhibit this spring for community members and folks from the surrounding area to enjoy. All artists, musicians and artisans who want to participate in this evening of the arts are asked to call Tammy Stemple, Main Street director, at 304-457-3700, or Larry, community volunteer, at 304-457-3773.
