FAIRMONT - The Davis & Elkins College baseball team split a pair of games with Fairmont State Wednesday in WVIAC action at Mary Lou Retton Park.
The Senators dropped the first contest 4-2 and won the nightcap, 6-3.
Tripp Staley took the loss for Davis & Elkins in four innings of work in the opener.
Brenton Kopecek had two hits and scored a run, while Josh Robinette added one hit and one RBI for Davis & Elkins.
Kyle Crist earned the win for the Senators in the second contest in two innings of relief.
Robinette belted two home runs and knocked in three runs for D&E.
"If we eliminate the errors and walks today, we could have swept," Davis & Elkins College Ron Palmer said. "We still need to work on playing a full, clean nine inning game."
Davis & Elkins entertains Glenville State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
