Christopher Pudder has broken into the children's book industry.

An Elkins real estate broker and owner of House Hunters Real Estate & Platinum Properties LLC, Pudder has published his first book, "Sweetie Badeebie Goes Shopping with Daddy," with AuthorHouse, a United States-based self-publishing company.

Pudder said his initial decision to write the book, which is based on experiences he's had with his 4-year-old daughter Chloe, was a whim. He wrote it in two days.

‘Sweetie Badeebie Goes Shopping with Daddy’ is the first children’s book by Christopher Pudder, an Elkins real estate broker.

"My wife and I read children's books to Chloe all the time," Pudder said, "and one day I realized I could probably write one."

The book narrates "Daddy" and "Sweetie Badeebie's" trip to a shopping mall.

During the trip, Sweetie Badeebie loses her favorite jean jacket and the duo embark on a cross-mall search and rescue mission that eventually resolves with their recovery of the jacket.

Pudder said he has signed a three book contract with AuthorHouse.

"The second book will be even better, because it will be a little bit deeper," he said. "Sweetie Badeebie will have an attitude. It will be a little more realistic - most of us don't deal with children who are always sweet."

It will be titled, "Sweetie Badeebie a.k.a Moodie Attitoodie."

"The third book has not been started yet," Pudder said. "But, I think I might try to incorporate a moral. For example, something like 'lying is bad.'"

In the meantime, Pudder will continue his adventures with his daughter.

"Sweetie Badeebie Goes Shopping with Daddy" is available through various online book sites, such as Barnes and Noble, Amazon and Better World Books.
