Snowshoe Foundation raised $23,000 at its recent annual Ice Dinner at Snowshoe Mountain.
The Snowshoe Foundation is dedicated to the financial support of the local community and organizations whose activities provide benefit to the people of Pocahontas, Randolph and Webster counties. The foundation also sponsors individuals through higher education scholarships.
WV LIVING Marketplace sponsored an "Ice Fishing" auction consisting of 50 products made in West Virginia by artists and companies that are featured in the WV LIVING Marketplace.

In addition to its annual Ice Dinner, other Snowshoe Foundation fundraising events include the Snowshoe Foundation Golf Tournament, which will be June 15. The Treasure on the Mountain fundraiser is slated for Aug. 4 and will feature a $250,000 raffle. These events, among other initiatives throughout the year, will provide much-needed funding to support a variety of community endeavors.
In 2011, the foundation awarded $93,000 to 40 nonprofit organizations. There will be $27,000 awarded to Higher Education Scholarships.
