Candidate night at the Arden Area Community Building is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
This meeting is open to the public, so citizens can speak to local, state and federal candidates from both parties. This is a social gathering and it is an open forum for the candidates.
To date candidates planning to attend on the local level are: Dana Stemple, Judy Gain and Rex Freeman (Board of Education); John Hawkins (sheriff); Leckta Poling (prosecuting attorney); Dana Booth, Shirley Whitesell, David Everson, Eddie Canterbury and Phil Hart (County Commission).
So far, candidates planning to attend on the state level are: Joe Messineo (commissioner of agriculture); John Rose Sr. and Mary Poling (House of Delegates); Bob Williams (state Senate); and Ralph W. Clark (governor).
To date, the candidate planning to attend on the federal level is Sue Thorn (U.S. Congress.)
