Rehearsal preparations are under way for the Living Last Supper performance at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 315 Kerens Ave. in Elkins.
This hour of drama and worship was created by Ernest K. Emurian and brings the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples to life. The evening centers on the table with the disciples posed in DaVinci's famous painting.
Following the service each evening there will be the opportunity for all who wish to go to the church sanctuary and receive Holy Communion.
Members of the cast are from left, Jason Reed, Dan Wetsch, Bob Sponaugle, Mark Tomblyn, Roger Tysor, Andrew Gongola and Ryan Urban. Not pictured are Jim Ritter, Larry Jones, Chris Croson, Chuck Preusch, Lloyd Teter and Seth Pratt.
On Thursday, there will be a special interactive experience of the Last Supper for elementary-age children. Highlights will include reclining at the table, foot washing and eating Passover food. Childcare for children ages kindergarten and younger will be provided Thursday only. There will be no childcare Wednesday.
The performance is free and open to the public.
