Davis & Elkins cruises past Ohio Valley

Eric Doyle had four hits and scored three runs to lead Davis & Elkins to a 14-5 win over Ohio Valley College Friday in West Virginia Conference action at Harpertown Field.

Josh Robinette and Treavor Dubiel had three hits and scored two runs for the Senators (14-20, 10-12 WVIAC).

Lance VanNoy added two hits and two RBIs, while Brenton Kopecek had a three-run triple for Davis & Elkins.

Kyle Cristy added a two-run home run for the Senators.

Josh Kehr notched the win for Davis & Elkins in five innings of work.

Kehr allowed three runs on three hits. He walked two and struck out seven.

Andrew Ford and Jake Smith also pitched in relief for the Senators.

"We allowed Ohio Valley to come out and score three runs right off the bat," Davis & Elkins coach Ron Palmer said. "But our bats came to life today and we played all-around good baseball after the first inning."

Davis & Elkins will host Ohio Valley today at 1 p.m. for a double-header.

The Senators will entertain West Virginia Tech for a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
