A community baby shower is scheduled in Upshur County for pregnant women and moms with children 1 year old and younger from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stockert Youth Center.
The event aims to promote a number of issues, including baby safety. It is sponsored by the the West Virginia Healthy Start/HAPI Project, Upshur County Partners in Prevention, Upshur County Family Resource Network and West Virginia Wesleyan School of Nursing.
The event will include games, activities, door prizes and plenty of information for moms and moms to be.
The first 25 women who register will receive a gift bag with essential items for a baby, including diapers, lotions, wipes and other items.
