Members of the planning committee for the annual Weston's Amazing Week and Street Fair met recently to begin organizing for the weeklong event.
The highlight of the week will be the Street Fair/Antique Show, which will be hosted June 30 on Main Avenue. It is also the same day as the Glass Museum's Bottle Show at the Main Avenue location.
"This year we would like to concentrate on the antique market part of the event," said Julia Spelsberg, one of the organizers. "We invite antique dealers to contact me to show their wares. This is more of a tabletop event for dealers and we will be happy to work with them to ensure a nice show."
Bob Garrison, left, presents security equipment recently to Mountaineer Military Museum owner Ron McVaney. The equipment will be used in the museum to provide added visual security for the numerous displays. McVaney said, ‘The support of the people of Lewis and surrounding counties for the museum has been overwhelming. Thanks to all of you.’
Vendors for food, crafts and entertainment are invited to call the city of Weston at 304-269-6141 to sign up or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum also will provide Flashlight Tours from 8 to 10 p.m. June 29 for a small fee as part of the celebration.
Other activities during the week will be Tours at TALA, a West Virginia Birthday Party, Family Fun Night, cornhole tournament, Pet Parade and Hot Wings Contest.
