The April 26 Art Stroll throughout downtown Philippi again will feature a wine and cheese reception at the Glass Swan Gallery on the corner of South Main Street and Wabash Avenue.
The Art Stroll will feature nearly 200 items of art on exhibit in 13 downtown businesses, agency facilities and on the Court House Square along with musical venues in at least three locations. A new aspect of this spring's stroll will be literary arts. Barbour County Writers' Workshop members will read from their writings and sign their publications at the Philippi Public Library.
The public is invited to join in the evening stroll throughout Philippi. A registration table complete with a map of exhibit and music sites and a listing of artists will be available on the Court House Square. A wine and cheese reception ticket also can be purchased from the registration table the evening of the Art Stroll or before the event at the Philippi City Building. The ticket will entitle the holder to refreshments and two glasses of wine at the Glass Swan Gallery.
Philippi resident Paul Bennett and Karen Boni, the hostess at the Glass Swan Gallery, Philippi’s unique gift and vintage item shop owned by longtime resident Susan Gouer Ball, are enjoying last year’s reception.
